So my flight from DFW to Tokyo was an AA flight and my flight from Tokyo to Taipei was a JAL flight.
To be fair, there are a lot of factors in play here such as flight time and personal fatigue and stuff, but I really liked the flight from Tokyo to Taipei a hell of a lot more than from DFW to Tokyo. Ignoring the obvious stuff like the fact that the first flight is over 4x longer than the second, let me list why:
1. More music.
I’ll admit, I’m really biased here since I like to listen to JPop. But hey, they had a lot of JPop, 2 channels of what’s currently popular, 4 channels to showcase stuff from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2 channels for kid’s stuff (they had the Dragonball Kai OP). They also had a bunch of other channels like a Michael Jackson tribute channel with nothing but… Michael Jackson songs. Hell yeah.
2. Better games.
Admittedly, all you really need is Tetris, which they both had. But… hey, other games are nice to have too. But my JAL flight had Mahjong with netplay, allowing you to play with other dudes in the plane. Hell yeah.
3. Cuter flight attendants.
Hell yeah.
