Stalls

So if you’ve ever seen Japanese festivals in manga or anime, you’ve seen the many stalls selling stuff like yakisoba, takoyaki, ramune, and stuff like that.

Turns out visiting temples also calls for similar stalls outside. At least Senso-ji does, anyway.

First thing we ate was this Asakusa specialty called “Agemanjuu”.

Agemanjuu is this fried pastry filled with red bean paste. It’s actually surprisingly soft despite being fried. Delicious when fresh-made. However, it doesn’t sit too well, like most fried foods.

Later I had the largest clam I’ve ever seen.

Kinda expensive (300yen, I think?) for what it was, but damn, that’s the largest clam I’ve ever seen! It was pretty good, too.

We also had some takoyaki, which I forgot to take a picture of. The skin was really soft and chewy and slid off of the octopus too easily. Still, you gotta eat takoyaki when it comes to stalls.

I really wanted some ramune too, but it was really expensive (300yen a pop!), so I decided to forget it.
